Port St Lucie Downtown Trolley Has Arrived!

Tom Derzypolski

Ding, ding! The Treasure Coast Connector's new Port St. Lucie Downtown Trolley will begin rolling January 30, 2006. The new trolley is part of the downtown development project coordinated by the City of Port St. Lucie Community Redevelopment Agency.

"This is an exciting new addition to our system. We believe the trolley service will add to the allure of the community," said Marianne Arbore, Transit Director. "The trolley makes several stops to places people frequent, like the golf courses and shopping centers."

Trolley service will start at New York Street and Hideaway Circle traveling as far north as the City Center and Spanish Lakes Golf Village. From there the trolley will start a loop traveling to many points of interests such as the St. Lucie Gardens, Morningside Boulevard Shoppes, Saints Golf Course and Rivergate Plaza. Trollies will run every hour starting at 7:00 a.m. Service stops at 6:00 p.m. To see the new route and schedule of stops, please visit www.treasurecoastconnector.com.

The Treasure Coast Connector began operation in 2002 and now connects the communities of St. Lucie and Martin Counties with three fixed routes. Service is scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. For more information visit www.treasurecoastconnector.com or call 722-464-8878 in St. Lucie County or 772-286-8818 in Martin County.
